Attractive 17th century listed cottage in the village of Far Sawrey with easy access to countryside walks, a short drive from Lake Windermere.
This cottage enjoys a quiet location in the small village of Far Sawrey, with its popular pub the Cuckoo Brow Inn. Just half a mile away is the neighbouring village of Near Sawrey, where visitors will find the National Trust managed Hill Top, former home of Beatrix Potter. A little further along the same road brings visitors to the attractive village of Hawkshead with its range of shops, pubs, and National Trust properties. Just over a mile from the property is the western shore of Lake Windermere, from where the ferry runs across the lake to the opposite side.
On entering the cottage, a flag-stoned hallway brings guests to the lounge with its feature fireplace, comfortable seating, TV/DVD, and views across the garden. The pretty dining room has an antique dining table for four and a door leading out to the garden, views of which can be enjoyed from the armchairs, making this an enjoyable space to relax. The property’s kitchen has a beamed ceiling and is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and washing machine. Half way up the stairs you will find the compact bathroom which offers a bath with handheld shower and WC. On the first floor you will find three pretty bedrooms: a double and two single rooms. There is also a separate WC on this floor.
To the rear of the property is an enclosed garden with a patioed seating area close to the house, beyond which is a pretty lawn. Guests are able to access the owner’s secure garage which provides a place to store bikes and muddy boots. There is off-road parking for two cars provided.
Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.
