Sawrey Stables Self Catering Cottage Ambleside Lake District Property Description

Sawrey Stables is a recently built 4-bedroomed, detached cottage situated on the outskirts of Far Sawrey, 3/4 mile from Lake Windermere. This cottage offers luxurious accommodation for up to 7 people.
Standing in its own 1/2 acre garden, surrounded by woodland and fields it is a perfect hideaway. The superb location of this cottage gives magnificent views of the fells and glimpses of Lake Windermere. Footpaths lead from the grounds to the village, Claife Heights - a noted beauty spot of forest and tarns and Lake Windermere.

Although offering peace and seclusion, Sawrey Stables has excellent local amenities, being only four minutes walk from the village Post Office/store and pub/restaurant. Bowness, with all its shops, restaurants and leisure facilities, is just a short distance across the lake by ferry. Also close by is Hill Top, once the home of Beatrix Potter, and Hawkshead described as the prettiest village in the Lake District.

The accommodation comprises:

Ground Floor


The Entrance hall leads to the large L- shaped Kitchen/Dining room with extensive range of hand-built, traditional, country style cupboards and furniture. This lovely kitchen has oil-fired Aga, Electric Hob, combination microwave with grill, fridge/freeze, dishwasher and is very well equipped. The owners kindly supply tea towels, oven gloves, washing powder and dish washer tablets as well as cleaning equipment to ensure your stay is comfortable.

The Lounge has an open fire, colour T.V. video and music centre and quality soft furnishings make this a perfect place to unwind and relax. The downstairs shower room has w.c. , vanity basin and washing machine/dryer. The pretty ground floor Double Bedroom is ideal for those finding stairs difficult.

First Floor

Stairs lead to the spacious master bedroom with king-size pine bed and pine furniture and coordinated bed linen. This bedroom has a real feel of luxury - having it's own settee and television.

The bathroom has a whirlpool bath and power shower (an ideal way to unwind after a days walking on the fells). The twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom including power shower. The single bedroom has pretty pine furniture.

Outside

The private garden is accessed through the french windows onto the sunny terrace . The garden has a lawn and pretty flower beds and lovely views down the hill to Lake Windermere. Garden furniture makes this the perfect place to relax and enjoy the tranquility of this beautiful location.
