Ben Fold Self Catering Cottage Ambleside Lake District Property Description

A detached country cottage in a quiet location right in the heart of the pretty countryside outside Hawkshead village overlooking the Esthwaite Valley and the picturesque village of Hawkshead.

This traditional cottage complete with beams, aga and open fire is like stepping back in time. You will find Ben Fold next to a meandering lane with hardly any passing traffic Its perfect for those looking for a quiet holiday in a picturesque location. The owners have lovingly created a welcoming home. The cottage is furnished and equipped to a very high standard making it a delightful hideaway.

For summer days the south facing garden is a delight - with a choice of patios and lawns on which to relax and soak up the tranquility of this lovely area. Ben Fold also owns an extended area beyond the cottage with trees and footpaths adjoining farmers fields - nesting boxes on many of the trees attract a great variety of birds. A footpath from the garden provides an easy walk into Hawkshead, where there are lots of Inns and restaurants and shops, including a well stocked village Co-op, a chemist and the post office.

THE ACCOMMODATION COMPRISES OF:

DOWNSTAIRS

A large open plan kitchen/living/dining room with kitchen area covering 2 walls. Aga, fridge freezer, microwave washing machine etc. - beamed ceiling, open fire and comfortable seating, TV. dining table and chairs

There are fitted carpets throughout, oil fired central heating and a phone for incoming calls and local outgoing calls.

The owners have added a heated outside drying room with tumble dryer (for the occasional wet day!!).As the property adjoins farmers fields it is essential that dogs are not allowed over the fence.

UPSTAIRS:

There are three rooms.
A double with en-suite wc and basin, a twin room, and a second sitting room with sofa bed (colour T.V. and video and lots of games) which can be used as a third bedroom. From here there is a second outside entrance. The bathroom has electric shower over the bath, basin and wc.
