Turn left and go through Grasmere and Ambleside and then follow signs for Coniston (A593). Just outside Ambleside at Clappersgate take the left turn to Hawkshead. Hawkshead is about 10 minutes away on this road.

As you drop down towards the village the road bears round to the left and there is a right turn signposted ACCESS ONLY. Turn and you will see the village COOP infront of you. Our Office is opposite.

FROM THE SOUTH
Junction 36 M6 onto the A590. Continue on the dual carriageway for about 3 miles then take the left turn (A590) signposted Barrow in Furness. Stay on the A590 until you get to Newby Bridge. Go straight across the roundabout and then soon after take a right turn (over a bridge - Swan Hotel directly ahead) signposted Hawkshead. Stay on this rather twisty road for about 15 minutes and you will arrive at Hawkshead from the South. Turn left and then drive past the main carpark on your left and the campsite on your right. the road bends to the left and then you will see a left turn into the village signposted ACCESS ONLY. Turn and you will see the village COOP infront of you. Our Office is opposite.

CAR FERRY
There is a car ferry across Lake Windermere (much loved by Sat Navs!!) this is a lovely way to cross to Windemere during your holiday. We would recommend that you do not use this as part of your journey as in Summer day trippers can lead to long, frustrating delays and in Winter it may be closed due to high winds or water levels.

SATELITE NAVIGATION SYSTEMS
Our postcode is LA22 0NZ. We would like to point out the problems of using this system of navigation in this area - not only does this postcode cover most of the area but the satelites seem to have a great affinity to the ferry and we have had to rescue many a guest who has been "led astray" by his/her sat nav! If using them we suggest you use them to navigate firstly to either Newby Bridge or Ambleside and then follow written instructions.
