At The Lorna Doone Hotel and Restaurant in Porlock all rooms are en-suite and are individually furnished with a choice of twin, standard double or king-size beds, each named after central charactors from the Lorna Doone story, equiped with central heating, colour TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Cots, hair-dryers, shoe cleaning kit, sewing kit and iron & Ironing board available for guests on request during their holiday,short and weekend breaks.
The cottage rooms are across a courtyard from the hotel and have adjoining children’s rooms, The stable room is at ground level in the courtyard.
A Hotel since 1894, William Hancock, a brewer from Wiveliscombe, erected the present Lorna Doone Hotel and Restaurant building in 1886 on the site of the old Three Horseshoes Inn Porlock and the buildings around the courtyard at the rear are the original stables and coachmen's cottages.
