A warm and friendly welcome awaits you at The Bactonleigh Guest House, Minehead, an excellent base for Short Breaks on Exmoor, where you can relax and unwind to make the most of your holiday here in the town of Minehead and the beautiful surroundings of Exmoor National Park.

The Bactonleigh Guest House offers excellent guest house accommodation with tastefully decorated bedrooms, also The Bactonleigh Guest House has a comfortable guests’ lounge for relaxing in at any time of the day. The Bactonleigh is a 3 minute level walk to the Steam railway and sea-front.

All the family are welcome at The Bactonleigh Guest House, even the small family pet, although we ask you make us aware of any pets when booking. For the comfort of all our guests The Bactonleigh is a non-smoking Guest House.

Great care is taken to provide good home cooking from a full English breakfast to our optional evening 3 course evening meal at just £15 per person. A choice of menu is always available and we can happily cater for vegetarian or special diets (with prior notice please).

We also have a table license so you can enjoy a glass of wine with your meal if you wish.

Bactonleigh Guest House, Minehead, an excellent base for Short Breaks on Exmoor.
Minehead enjoys a mild, sunny climate nestling beneath the foothills of Exmoor National Park, with a wide sandy beach (recently up-graded with families in mind), an attractive, level promenade with sweeping sea views, a picturesque 'old town' and small fishing harbour.

There are an abundance of interesting shops, galleries, tea rooms and cafes, a health & fitness centre, golf, swimming pools, bowling green, family activities and pleasure gardens, all within handy walking distance.
Several way-marked paths and bridalways lead up onto the heather-clad slopes of North Hill which has glorious views across the Bristol Channel to Wales, or dramatic sunsets across Porlock Bay and Bossington. Historic Dunster, with its National Trust castle and cobbled village streets, Lorna Doone Valley, Dunkery Beacon (the highest point in Somerset), Cleeve Abbey, the Valley of the Rocks and the pretty village of Lynmouth are just a few places to visit.

There are certainly no shortage of ideas for a day out within easy driving distance.

We also have a stair lift to the 1st floor, which is available for guests with mobility difficulties to use.
