Weddings
When you discover Loch Melfort Hotel, a wildly romantic 25-bedroom Scottish Country House Hotel, with simply breathtaking views over Asknish Bay to Jura, Shuna and the islands beyond, you know you've found somewhere different, somewhere extra special for your wedding celebrations.
We are fully licensed for civil weddings and there is a Church of Scotland Minister available or Humanist Celebrant available locally if you prefer.
There are also the pretty Churches in Kilninver, Kilmelford or picturesque Craignish, with stunning views out across the sea to Craignish Point.
After taking your vows or church blessing we can arrange for a horse and carriage to take you up the winding coastal road to Loch Melfort Hotel for your reception of 2 to 100 guests. Alternatively why not sail over by boat as a unique start to your wedding reception?
Our Manager, Wedding Co-ordinator and Team give personal attention from the early planning stages through to organising the very finest detail and to supporting you on the day. Our Head Chef also meets up with wedding clients to help create a bespoke menu and Calum will be happy to advise which wines from his cellar would be most suitable to accompany your wedding breakfast and budget.

At Christmas or Hogmanay why not extend your wedding celebrations to holiday with family and friends. When it comes to food for the Asknish Bay Restaurant, we are ardent about sourcing the freshest and best quality local ingredients for our menus, and have sourced some wonderful produce, grown and prepared by kindred spirits who reside mainly in Scotland and close to Loch Melfort. Almost everything is home-made at Loch Melfort Hotel, from bread, to marmalade, ice-cream and even our very own Scottish tablet, the exquisite local confectionary delight!
EatScotland We know that guests always like to get a flavour for the food they can expect to be served before they visit. Every day a new dinner menu is devised by the Chefs, offering a 5 course gourmet dinner, including appetizer and soup course, with at least four choices for each course. Our impeccable, yet informal and friendly service will give you plenty of time to talk to your friends, enjoy the food or simply admire the breathtaking view.

The Loch Melfort Asknish Bay Restaurant is normally open every day for Breakfast and Dinner, including Sunday and Monday evenings. Visitors are always most welcome. Chartroom II - next door to the NTS Arduaine Gardens
For garden enthusiasts, sailors or just those wanting an informal place to have a meal and refreshments, the Chartroom II provides a wonderful balance of spectacular views, casual dining and delicious food. Our legendary langoustines are served daily, along with lobster and crab. All our food, including Highland Beef Burgers and Beer Battered Haddock are home-made and our policy of buying food locally wherever possible applies to all our dishes. Vegetarian options are also available. The Chartroom II directly overlooks Asknish Bay with wonderful views out to Shuna, Jura and Scarba as well as Skerries.
For sailors, why not moor up on one of our four private moorings, available free of charge from April - October and walk up the path from the slipway to enjoy lunch or supper. Our Bistro is also equipped with showers for those sailors who wish to have a clean and tidy up before eating! Plenty of hanging space for oilys is available and don’t worry about muddy wellies; we’ll soon clean up any mess you leave behind! In the summer why not sit outside and enjoy a drink in our seating area and enjoy a magical sunset or just soak up the sun rays. In the winter, our cosy fire will keep you warm whilst you enjoy the magnificent waves crashing against the rocks in the high winds.
The Chartroom II is family friendly and we serve children’s meals or half portions from our main menu. Highchairs and baby changing facilities are available, as well as a welcome box of toys and games to keep the little ones amused whilst you relax and enjoy the view. A children’s playground is available in front of the Bistro, so your children can burn some energy whilst you keep an eye on them from one of our new outside tables and chairs. At lunch time why not enjoy watching our Highland Cows, Campbell, Dougal and McDonald, being fed.
Teas, coffees, drinks and home baking are served all day from 11am to 10pm, with lunch served between 12-2:30pm and supper from 6-9pm. Even if you are driving past and want to stop for a break, or are looking for a warm fire and relaxing drink at the end of a hard day's walking, then the Chartroom II is the place to head for. For larger parties we recommend booking (call us on 01852 200 233 or email us), especially if you want a popular window seat.
The Bistro will be closed every Sunday evening and all day Monday from 2nd October and all week as of 1st November - 31st March; however soup and sandwiches, teas, coffees, cakes and other light refreshments are available in the lounge all winter from 12-2:30pm every day.
Asknish Bay Restaurant will be serving a mix of Table d’hôte, A La Carte and Bistro specials Thursday – Monday inclusive.
Asknish Bay Restaurant and Chartroom II Bistro will be fully open over Christmas holiday period 17th December – 2nd January.
Private Dining
Whatever your reason for dining - catching up with friends, a birthday, anniversary, corporate dining, or simply a romantic Dinner – our chefs will work with you to create a menu tailored to your needs, along with your choice of entertainment. From light Scottish folk music or a magician to a fireworks display on the lawn, you can be sure to take away special memories of the occasion.
For parties of up to 14 people, the panelled Library Room, situated in the oldest part of the Main House is available all year for special lunches or elegant candlelit private dinners as well as corporate meetings.
In addition, our Asknish Bay Restaurant, with its spectacular views and spacious seating area, is available for larger parties and events. Remember, Loch Melfort is also available for exclusive use for house parties and weddings too.
