The Blackbird Inn is a great Country Inn with large restaurant with full en suite accommodation, at very reasonable prices. First opened as an inn in 1773, it was originally two buildings, a well-known landmark on this busy road between Taunton and Wellington and it is well worth taking the time to stop off here.

The Blackbird Inn retains its olde worlde character throughout, this inn not only has a fine reputation for its welcoming bar but also it has a superb and extensive menu of traditional, rural cuisine and has gained fame throughout the area and beyond. Along with the wonderful range of succulent steaks there is a large choice that is supplemented daily by the specials selection.

Our restaurant can hold up to 84 people. We offer a number of superb dishes.

During your stay at The Blackbird Inn, you'll have a chance to explore Wellington, a small country town standing between the River Tone and the beautiful Blackdown Hills. It has a large number of speciality shops from which you can buy a wide range of goods. Apart from the items mentioned on the left, there are gift shops, craft shops, a music shop and an old-fashioned ironmongers where you can buy just one of an item. Local meats and cheeses are available and there is an excellent fish shop. A farmers market is held every third Saturday of the month.

Wellington Monument, built in honour of the Duke of Wellington, is a major landmark in the area and visible from many parts of the town.
